Vulva Va-Voom Lives In This Bar Now

Winner of Tampa International Fringe Festival's "The Edge Award," 2020.

This 35 minute two-camera short film, complete with underscoring, was created in partnership with the Tampa International Fringe Festival. When onstage productions were cancelled in 2020, some artists created filmed versions of their show. We created a weird, whole-ass original film.

When Vulva and their sidekick Lady Lovecraft find that the bar they've been performing in is shut down for quarantine, they refuse to accept the realities of Covid-19 life. They live in the bar full-time, "zombie apocalypse" style. As an academic researcher documents their decline into madness, the performers go feral, setting up a bizarre internal economy and performing three shows nightly to an audience of stuffed animals.

This was our company's first foray into film making. It was created on a tight turn-around and is consequently even weirder than usual.
